Hatching Day June 12th, 2014!

We were very excited today as our Button Quail eggs started to hatch! Butterscotch was the first chick to hatch. In total we have 8 Button Quail Chicks. Our last one to hatch was Silver. His feet were curled up like a ball. He had a difficult time walking during the next few days. By Monday he was running fast with all the others. Please enjoy our photos!

The kindergarten students and I were up for a challenge for the month of May!

The David Suzuki Foundation invited Canadians around the country to join them in May 2014 for Canada’s third annual 30×30 Nature Challenge.  "Living in the digital age, most of us spend too much time in front of screens and little time outdoors. It’s time for us all to get outside and cultivate the “nature habit”.”
“Time in nature can reduce stress and symptoms of attention-deficit disorders while boosting immunity, energy levels and creativity. Plus, children who spend time in nature are far more likely to protect it later in life.” “The message is clear—kids need nature and so do teachers! ” Quotes taken from:
